With the installation of our mobile phone detection system well under way in Denmark, Unify have already received favourable coverage in their press there.
Most recently Scandinavian newspaper Ingeniøren, discusses Unify’s work in Denmark quoting Kriminforsorgen’s Finn Heiselberg as saying that Unify’s product is the best in providing a specific location for each unauthorised mobile phone.
The UMDS system includes a white list option which is a way of discounting mobile phones in the vicinity of the prison that are authorised. In turn, this allows for accurate and reliable data and improves the success rate of illegal mobile retrieval,
The £1.7m deal will mean that Unify will help in the battle to reduce criminal activity and increase safety to the public, the prison and its staff by removing unauthorised mobile phones from eight Danish prisons run by Kriminalforsorgen.
Unify was chosen ahead of five other international telecoms specialists to install their system which detects mobile phones, provides live alerts for prison staff and then blocks the phones so that inmates do not have unlawful access.
